Targe & Swords on Saltire

I have designed a modified Saltire with griffin supporters, the Forsyth motto and Forsyth name as a backdrop for my targe & swords. Now all I have to do is get it printed.

The completed article.

Picked-up my targe from Ian, first helping with the installation of quick release QD sockets to enable attachment of a sling to carry it across my shoulder.  After that Ian, Julie and myself toasted the completion with a dram of Famous Grouse. Ian had applied "bluing" to the spike and completed a stand to facilitate displaying the targe.

In May this year I commissioned Ian Dickson of clan Keith to constructed a targe to be used for display purposes in the Forsyth clan tent at Highland Game events & also at home. I wanted a targe that I felt would do justice to becoming a family heirloom that I could pass on to future generations. It was also important that I had complete decision making on the design and materials used so that the targe was custom-made to my preferences.

Scottish Infantry Officer's Broadsword

My newly constructed targe will be a great companion to my Wilkinson Sword 1982 EIIR Scottish Infantry Officer's Broadsword.
